Business Innovation and Transformation
There are many different ways for businesses to innovate, such as developing new products or services, creating new and groundbreaking business processes, or adopting market-changing business models. By definition, business innovation changes the way business is performed and, once introduced, becomes a license to play and the basis for the next innovative step – transformation.
	An interesting question is, “How does the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and his/her IT systems contribute to transforming the business in innovative ways?”.

How to reengineer business processes to be automated, standardized and integrated thus creating a "lean" organization. How to create a systems supported agile value chain to enable the organization to rapidly change its business model, organizational structure or business processes. How to institute pervasive access to information that is shared with all the stakeholders of the value chain. How to establish and retain solid trust and relationships with the CXOs that will allow IT to be an integral player in the development and execution of corporate strategy and business transformation.
