Changing from being a transaction oriented CIO/business leader to a transformational leader is a significant mindset change. The transformational CIO/business leader needs a strategic technology vision as well as a deep understanding of the various businesses within the business, and of the competitive landscape outside the business. For success, the transformation leader needs to meld people with lean processes and enabling technologies to fuel growth, increase productivity and achieve competitive advantage. The leader must work on all three key levels -- people, process, and technology -- with a deep understanding of each in order to achieve a transformational business model that supports and drives the business.

Attend this session to learn first hand what these leaders are doing to transform their businesses and how they are going about it.

Timothy Kasbe, Chief Information Officer, Sears Holdings Management Corporation

Moderator: Mark Jeffery

In this keynote, Timothy will present a brutally honest account of his personal journey from a village in India to serving in the west and to returning to his home country to build one of the largest retail chains there.

He will talk about the necessity of personal transformation if one is to lead people in the East and West with consideration to all the cultural, geographical and socio-political factors it involves. Be it growing up as an acute minority in his homeland or escaping from the Mujahadin Terrorist, Timothy has embraced every blessing and adversity life has thrown at him to see how he can help people achieve their highest potential.

With his recent move to the Chicagoland area, Timothy will discuss the lessons learned in moving from the newest to the oldest businesses and the leadership adjustments he has undergone to lead in an axis of cultural diversity.
